Serena Castagno Lerner is a self-taught artist and was born in Massachusetts to a musical family. Her father was a former professional musician, and she was exposed to the arts as early as she can remember. She was constantly drawing and painting as a child, often filling notebook after notebook with renditions of horses, dogs, Mickey Mouse and large abstract doodles. When she received her first “real” art set as a holiday present that included watercolors and acrylics, she was hooked!
After graduating with a B.A. in History from Norwich University, Serena moved to Boston, MA. The years brought more opportunity and eventually led her to central NY state where she now resides.
Painting mostly in acrylics, oils, and alcohol inks, Serena injects her own unique style with vibrant colors and bold designs. Her work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter and she is constantly inspired by her love of nature, travel and adventure. Her work can be found in private collections throughout the U.S., and Italy, and she continues to gain recognition as an emerging artist.
