Serena Castagno Lerner was born in Cambridge, MA, in 1973, but lived most of her school age years in Westford, MA, and was a 1991 graduate of Westford Academy. Serena was born to a musical family, her father was a former professional musician, and she was exposed to the arts as early as she can remember. She was constantly drawing and painting as a child, often filling notebook after notebook with renditions of horses, dogs, Mickey Mouse and large abstract doodles. When she received her first “real” art set that included watercolors and acrylics, she was hooked!
After graduating with a B.A. in History from Norwich University in Vermont, Serena moved to Boston, MA. The years brought more opportunity and eventually led her to Manlius, NY where she now resides with her husband and loveable four legged family members.
Painting mostly in acrylics, Serena injects her own unique abstract style with vibrant colors and bold designs. Her work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter and she is constantly inspired by her love of nature, travel and adventure. Her work can be found in private collections throughout New England, and New York, and she continues to gain recognition as an emerging abstract artist.
As of 7/2/2013, she is showcasing Mi Alma, Grace, The Dress, Moonlight Autumn, Mountain Song, and Vision at Matthew's Hair Salon and Spa in DeWitt, NY.
